The Lusubilo Dairy Project was implemented in Karonga district. The main objectives were:
1) Increased household income by 50% from sale of daily products
2) Improved nutritional status of orphans and household members in 60 families through consumption of livestock and dairy products
3) Increased food security through promotion of organic gardening and horticulture
The project aimed to Introduce high grade dairy cattle in Karonga with funding from Heifer Project International and Bothar Ireland. Start & end date: 2006 – 2008. Total budget: $150,000.00. Location: Karonga District in Northern Malawi.
