Kaphuka was an integrated livelihoods project implemented by SSLLP Malawi with support from CARA Malawi, an Irish based charity. The project targeted women and started with 100 women, who were supported with meat and milk goats, chicken (layers) and pigs. The farmers were also supported with food crop (maize) production inputs to improve their food security. The animals have since multiplied and a second group of 100 women within the community received pass on animals from their fellow women in the second year. The project also supported provision of safe water and health services within the community
