November 2011 - SSLPP starts work on its own office

When SSLPP acquired a block of land in Area 36 on the south side of Lilongwe some years back, there was an optimistic hope that we would soon be able to build our own office block there and circumvent the ever increasing rentals we were paying for office space.

Then came the global economic crisis and a cash flow squeeze within SSLPP that rendered any hope of allocating more resources to the project out of the question.

After so much waiting and hoping, SSLPP is now making a start - pang'ono pang'ono (little by little), as they say here in Malawi. The foundations are laid and the structure is gradually taking shape. SSLPP hopes to complete the structure and build a perimeter fence within the next few months.

SSLPP staff are universally enthusiastic about this development. Establishment of the new office will be a great benefit to the organisation. Not only will it enable us to streamline our financial overheads, it will also enable us to consolidate our corporate business of combating poverty in rural Malawi.
