SSLLP envisions a Malawian society where small holder farmers are able to realize meaningful, tangible and sustainable livelihood benefits from agricultural enterprise and natural resources and SSLLP realizes that this cannot be achieved if women are left behind in Agricultural activities. Malawi as a country is comprised by a majority of women and so if the country should develop quickly women must be included in most of the development activities, this is one of the reasons that SSLLP includes women in the project that it implements.
Malawians are highly dependent on Agriculture and this is usually subsistence farming. Women register a high participation rate in Agriculture as they produce Up to 70 % of household food and perform between 50-70 % of all Agricultural tasks. SSLLP recognizes that women contribute positively to Agricultural activities and the well being of various households through out the whole country. Women have benefited from the various project
