The management and staff of SSLLP take this opportunity to thank every one of our supporters, our partners and our friends for all that they have done over the past year and to wish them the very best for 2014. We hope that this year allows us further opportunities to improve our programs.
At this time, it is also our sad duty to report the passing of our respected colleague and friend, Crosby Mwenifumbo, whose departure in August 2013 left a gap which we know can never be replaced.
Crosby's engagement with SSLLP in September 2003 was a logical sequel to his employment in government. He had long foreseen the opportunity for constructive input to the smallholder dairy sector through a private non-profit institution such as SSLLP. His contributions to the organisation endure to this day. He was equally a man of the office and a practical field officer. He set in place a comprehensive document storage and registry system, he oversaw the installation of the dairy processing unit at Mwera Mkaka, and he set up an irrigation system at the Kalata holding ground managed by SSLLP.
The management and staff of SSLLP express our sincere condolences to the Mwenifumbo family. We are strengthened by our fond memories of our departed colleague, his innovation and enthusiasm, and his cheerful positive personal impact on us. These memories will always remain with us.
